Trophy Show – Sunday 19th September 2021

Covid-19 – Club Update

Published 3rd March 2021

It is looking more promising that we will be able to run our shows this years and as a bonus it is our golden anniversary.We have made a decision to delay the start of the season until the 16th May to hopefully enable us to run the shows with no restrictions on class sizes or who can attend the show.

Our dates this year therefore will be:

Sunday 16th May

Sunday 30th May

Sunday 20th June

Sunday 18th July

Sunday 15th August

Sunday 19th September

Our updated schedule will be available very soon along with the membership information.

We are also looking for sponsors for this year. Any membership or sponsorship sent last year will be carried forward.

Can 2019 trophy winners please look at making arranging for the trophies to be returned to either Whalley Corn Mills or any committee members asap.

We can’t wait to see you all again but we must all be conscious of following the guidance and stay safe to ensure we don’t have to cancel the season for a second year.

End Of Season Points

A massive thanks to everyone who has supported us this season, we’re pleased to announce that our end of season points are now available to view.

It is important that you check the list and report any discrepancies to us as soon as possible.

Presentation Evening:

The special awards as usual will be announced on the night of the presentation dance to be held on Friday 8th November at The Brooks Club, Accrington to commence at 7.15pm the presentation being at 8.00pm prompt. Tickets are priced at £12.00 which includes a hot supper of either Potato Pie or a vegetarian option and a choice of desserts (all tickets must be purchased in advance). All sponsors will receive one free supper ticket, so please contact me if you require your complimentary ticket. Once again a tombola will be held at the presentation evening, all proceeds go into our club funds to support the club activities, so any donation of prizes will be gratefully accepted.

Please note there will only be 200 tickets allocated on a first come first served basis therefore it is essential you send in your request early enough. Last date for receiving the request will be Monday 4th November to ensure enough time to order suppers etc. and MUST be paid for in advance – No ticket no admission.

Any members wishing to pay for tickets by bank transfer please contact Joyce on 07516455196 for details of how this can be done.

Any trophies not yet returned, please do so, CLEANED, as a matter of urgency to any committee member or Whalley Cornmills, remember the committee reserve the right to deduct points for trophies not returned. Any problems please ring me ASAP.

This year’s AGM will be held on the 2nd December 8pm at Forts Arms, Clayton le Moors. If you have any suggestions regarding the club please do not hesitate to attend the meeting and raise them.

Finally good luck to all the competitors who have qualified for STARS championship we will have committee members there on all 3 days to support you.
